Connectingcare Gateway and WSMA2 achieves SMD conformance

DCA’s two developed e-Health messaging products, Connectingcare and WSMA2, recently became the first applications to be certified independently as conforming to the NEHTA Secure Messaging (SMD) standard.

The products were independently tested by K J Ross and Associates, a NATA-certified testing lab, over a period of several days.

DCA's two other products, Argus and tcm7, will follow in due course, meaning DCA offers the most complete set of e-health messaging tools available today.

Rottnest Island Authority selects City Wide and PinForce Mobile to monitor boat activity to the island

A combination of PinForce City Wide and PinForce Mobile fulfills the requirements of the Rottnest Island Authority to maintain a database of registered boats and manage infringements relating to boating activity on the island.

City Wide is used to enter and maintain registration details to the database and search existing details to check that boats visiting the island have paid admission fees and have not overstayed.

PinForce Mobile is used to issue a wide range of infringements, for example:

  • failing or refusing to pay admission
  • installing a mooring without permission
  • failing to provide copy of mooring inspection
  • using apparatus other than beach anchor
  • interfering with fauna or habitat
  • exceeding speed limit
  • littering
  • being in a protected area without permission
  • securing a vessel to a structure not designed for that use.

City Wide is installed on Panasonic Toughbooks and the highly performing new Motorola ES400 has been selected to run PinForce Mobile.  Both devices can be synchronised via 3G in real-time with the main database ensuring it is always up-to-date.

January 2011 DCA wins Secure Messaging tender for the Northern Territory

The Northern Territory department of Health and Families has awarded DCA the tender to provide a territory-wide infrastructure to support secure exchange of health records based on the NEHTA Secure Message Delivery (SMD) specification.

The infrastructure will enable existing software products residing in hospital, community health and aboriginal medical centres to send and receive secure messages amongst each other using a common protocol. The project is a collaboration between DCA, NTDHF, NEHTA, and the major existing software vendors Ascribe and Communicare.

DCA's Connectingcare product will facilitate exchange of messages to and from remote locations, and the Human Services Directory (HSD) will provide a common directory of services and providers. As part of the project, DCA will develop a "plug in" component to enable vendors to link into the network using NEHTA standards.

"We are pleased to be part of a project that promotes interoperability between software solutions in health", said Peter Young, DCA general manager of health and community services, "the Northern Territory has a long history of health IT innovation and we look forward to working in partnership with them."
